What changed in Borderlands 4 and when: official patch notes like Version
1.10, in-game events, and every change to our SHiFT code snapshot. Each
entry shows the date it happened, the day we last checked its sources, the game version
it was verified for, and a link to the publisher we read. Game news pages go stale - the
point of this timeline is that you can see exactly how fresh each claim is.
October 18 code source check and two archived drops
Existing listings were cross-checked on MentalMars and GamesRadar. The October 6 and October 13 Golden Key drops are archived. MentalMars’ new October 18 listing is shown separately because it was absent from the second list; no redemption is claimed.
This records a site source check, not a new patch or an in-game redemption. The September 30 drop whose listed deadline was October 6 and the October 10 drop whose listed deadline was October 13 are in the archive.
MentalMars lists a new October 18 3-Golden-Key code with an October 20 date. It was absent from GamesRadar at this check, so the code page displays it separately from the existing cross-checked table. A source-listed date does not establish the exact cutoff timezone or eligibility of your account. Read the official redemption result before assuming a reward was claimed.

October 15 weekly activities: Core Observer and Rising Action
The October 15 official activities list Core Observer as Weekly Big Encore and Rising Action as the Wildcard, with a Symmetry Order sniper reward. This is a server-side activity rotation, not a new major version.
The latest weekly set published in the official history at this source check is October 15:
Weekly Big Encore: Core Observer.
Wildcard mission: Rising Action, with Centripetal, Sulfur Hexafluoride and Wealthy modifiers.
Legendary reward: Symmetry, an Order sniper rifle.
The notes also provide Maurice’s Black Market visual location hint. The location is shared, but offered items vary by player. Restart the game and connect online for the server-side set; after campaign completion, the ECHO Map tab shows the weekly boss and mission. Check that in-game listing after the next rotation rather than treating this dated record as permanent.

Six SHiFT codes join the October 2 snapshot
The October 2 source check added six codes to the site snapshot: a 3-Golden-Key Randy Pitchford drop that expires October 6, the cross-game CSKJJ Golden Key code whose sources split between 5 keys and 2 for BL4, the 2-key WZ53T, the July 29 BZR3T 3-key drop, and the Loveless "Mint Chipset" and "Children of the Vex" skins.
A 3-Golden-Key code posted by Randy Pitchford on September 30 (X post, cited by Game Rant) that expires October 6.
The cross-game CSKJJ Golden Key code. Sources disagree on the BL4 reward: MentalMars and UrGameTips list 5 Golden Keys, GamesRadar lists 2 for BL4 plus 5 in the older Borderlands games. The split is preserved in the reward field rather than flattened.

Aggregator-listed codes needed two independent lists to agree before entering the table. These are public-source listings, not in-game redemptions by this site; unlisted-expiry codes can still be withdrawn by Gearbox.

Eight expired summer drops archived
Archive backfill, not a same-day game change: eight short Golden Key drops that expired between July 21 and September 29 were backfilled into the expired section of the SHiFT snapshot at the October 2 check, with their historical expiry dates preserved.

WH5TB archived after three lists dropped it
Source-status change, not a same-day game change: the WH5TB 5-Golden-Key code moved from the active table to the expired archive at the October 2 check, after GamesRadar, MentalMars and UrGameTips dropped it and Game8 listed an April 29 expiry. Only PC Gamer's stale July 24 page still carried it.
This is a source-status change on our SHiFT snapshot, not a same-day change in the game. WH5TB, a 5-Golden-Key code posted March 26, was moved to the expired archive at the October 2 check:
GamesRadar, MentalMars and UrGameTips all dropped it from their current lists.
Game8 lists an April 29 expiry for it.
The only current-looking page still carrying it was PC Gamer’s July 24 list, which predates the drops above.
Archived codes stay on the expired list so players do not waste time retrying limited drops after their listed expiry.
The official September 17 weekly update made already-unlocked Vault Hunter heads and skins available for Loveless the Hacker when Shared Progression is turned on. An in-game availability change for cosmetics you have already unlocked - not a grant of all cosmetics, and not a SHiFT code.
The official update notes for the September 17, 2026 weekly update state: “Unlocked Vault Hunter Heads and Skins are now available for Loveless the Hacker* with Shared Progression turned on.”
What this means in practice:
Heads and skins you have already unlocked on other Vault Hunters become usable on Loveless while Shared Progression is enabled.
It does not grant cosmetics you have not unlocked, and it is not tied to any redemption key.
It is separate from the Loveless “Mint Chipset” SHiFT code that arrived in late September, which is a code-based cosmetic and is listed on the SHiFT snapshot instead.
Version 1.10 shipped September 10 with the new Vault Hunter Loveless the Hacker, Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort, Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows, Vault Card 5, and a level cap raise of 10 levels (from the earlier level-60 cap to 70).
Version 1.10 is the September 10 major content update. The official update notes and the 2K announcement cover:
A level cap increase of 10 levels for all players; the earlier Version 1.5 history states a level-60 cap, so this ten-level raise yields 70.
The date on each entry is when the update happened or when the source check landed, not
when we last looked at it - that is the separate "checked" date. "Verified for" names
the game version the facts were checked against (currently Version
1.10); it is a version label, not a claim that we redeemed anything
in-game. SHiFT code entries are public-source snapshots: a code without a listed
deadline can still be withdrawn by Gearbox without notice.
